23/365

Do you see this? I have posted on this particular blog for four days in a row! I am on a roll. I may actually finish my 365 days in less than five years.

This in my dog. His name is Riga and Nick bought him for me for Christmas six year ago, while we were living in Latvia. He found him on the internet and he arrived to our place in Idaho about a week after we got home. He is a fantastic dog. He is really smart and knows lots of tricks. When we moved to China a little over two years ago, my mom took him for what was to be that year. They have bonded and can't really be separated at this point. I'm glad they have each other.

I was walking around in the yard and he decided he wanted to come out with me. Since he was there and I was taking pictures, I took a few of him. Isn't he pretty?

This is what he does when he wants to play.

Today is a lizard kind of day. It was fun to take pictures of them. They seemed to like it. They just sat and let me take their picture.

So cute, huh?!

My mom has so many different plants in the backyard. I came across this tree with these really neat orange flowers. I don't think she knew it was there because she thought it was an orange tree from inside of the house.

This is the flower close up. Do you know what it is? I have no idea. It's just a neat looking orange flower. It's really vibrant.

Her favorite color is purple, so I'm sure she loves these, whatever they are. They are pretty though. They grow on big pieces of grass looking things, not on a tree or bush.

She called these snowballs. Kind of funny since it's about 75 degrees here. They are so pretty thought. They grow on big bushes.

If you didn't know, I love the beach. I'm sure I've said it before. I went to the beach with Nicholas the other day and took a few photos. I thought I'd share some of them with you. My personal opinion is you can never have too many pictures of the beach. This one is about a 10 minute walk from my mom's house. Nice, huh?

We were watching this bird fish. I looked it up in a bird book and I think it's a Blue Heron. I'm not 100% positive, but that's what I think.

This pelican just let me take his picture. He never moved. I think he must not be a shrimp eater, since he is gray and not pink.

Today I have a cute little squirrel for you. He, or she, was all about posing for me. I watched it for about 10 minutes and it never left my view. It's super cute too. Don't you think?

I just have to start by saying, at the rate I am going it will take me ten years to get through my 365 days of photography. It's not that I don't take pictures, I take some almost every day. The problem is that they are either of food or I just don't get them to this point. It's quite sad really. So, if you're looking for pictures every day, I'm afraid it's not going to happen. Sorry. I will do my best.

Right now I am in Florida, visiting my mom and sister. My mom's back yard is pretty wild, like a forest. It is a neat place and there are lots of birds and squirrels. There are also lizards, butterflies and snakes. Maybe I will be able to get some good pictures of them all while I'm here. Lucky for me, I have a zoom lens, so I won't have to get too close to the snakes. A very happy thought indeed. Today I have a few bird pictures for you. Enjoy.

Same bird, taking a bath. They are quick bathers

Nick and I took a little two day trip to Salt Lake City before he left for a trip. We took a drive to Midway to see the Ice Castles and I thought it was a pretty neat place. We were able to see how they make the ice castles because there were a few people working on them. Very  interesting. If I liked the cold at all, I might think about giving it a try. I took a lot of pictures, but these were my favorite. What do you think? Have you been to someplace like this? Which is your favorite? Leave me a comment below.

Nick and I took a drive a few weeks ago and were actually hunting. We found some deer, but not where we could take them, so I just took a lot of pictures instead. Here are a few of them. What do you think?

I think that this particular deer and it's companions were just laughing at us because they knew they were safe. They were pretty close to us.

As you might know, I love horses. These two just stared at me as I was taking their picture. I think they were posing.

Probably one of my favorites from the day. This is actually on Nick's dad's land, which used to belong to his grandfather. This particular area has a lot of interesting things to photograph. I'd like to go back when it is a little warmer.

15/365

I'm showing you these because they are funny. Nicholas bought the boys Nerf guns for Christmas. He thought it would be funny to wrap them in vinyl scraps from his work and then weld the vinyl shut. Those boys tried so hard to open their packages, but alas, it didn't work. They were mostly good sports about it. Owen did get a little frustrated though after a little bit, so Nicholas had to help them. Owen is a little blurry. It's difficult to get him to hold still, especially when he is excited!

Kassye and I were putting out the decorations and found this fun light up set of ears and decided it would be a great idea to make her cat, Truffles, really mad at us. What do you think? Doesn't she look like she would like to tear us up?

However, between the two of them, there is true love. I believe that Truffles would let Kassye do whatever she wanted. Really.

See? She doesn't even look mad anymore...

I'm going to start of by saying that I have been neglecting this particular project. I'm going to try really hard to do better because I really, really want to improve my photography skills. I thought about going back and trying to figure out where I had taken pictures and adding them, but then I changed my mind. I decided that I will just add three 'days' today and then do better in the future. So, here is the first one.

We had some pretty freezing days here a few weeks ago, so I snapped a few pictures of the poor trees. I say poor trees because they sure looked cold. What do you think?
